According to archeological facts ancient temple built by King Aggrabodhi IV -667 -683 A.D who ruled Southern part of Sri Lanka. An ancient ruins still remain which relates to many ancient kings ages. The image house which built by King Parakramabahu IV (1302-1326 A.D) remain which was repaired by King Bhuvenakabahu IV (1341- 1351AD). Antiquity is demonstrated “Ata Mangala” (Eight fold prosperity stone) it is belong to Anuradhapura Era. Paintings related to more than 500 years history. One of great ancient emblem remain in Weligma.
