Weligama very famous for handmade lace, many places in Weligama attending this traditional industry. Lace has been introduced by Portuguese and Dutch in the age 16^th 17^th Centuries. It comes generation through generation, one generation teaching this amazing art with difficult and delicate at to next generation. Sri Lankan lace made by hand and have cloths, blouses, curtains, pillow covers and many more decorative items and this great industry became risk from a diminishing work force. Still this great industry is doing by Ceylonese.
